Tackling Cheating in SSO

By Ismael Serrano (Technical Director)

Many of you have shared your frustrations about the use of third-party tools and how they affect the fairness and fun of SSO. We’re working hard to tackle this issue and I wanted to share an important update on where we are today!

A Safer Game for Everyone

We’re all about keeping the game fun and safe for everyone. That’s why we’re stepping up with a zero-tolerance approach to unauthorized modifications or tools that give players an unfair advantage. Don’t worry—if you’re using Reshade, you’re all good!

To parents and guardians, this will make it safer for our younger players, who are especially vulnerable to being targeted by people selling modifications of the game. This is an issue we take very seriously. Modifications are not only against our terms and conditions but can also pose significant risks to both the player and their account.

The Risks of Game Modifications

Here’s how these unauthorized programs can affect you:

  • Players might download a program that connects to the game to modify it. These programs might promise in-game advantages, but are frequently unsafe.

  • Some services require sharing sensitive account information, which can lead to account theft or loss—leaving younger players especially vulnerable.

  • These modifications can break the game, not just for the cheater but for others they interact with, ruining the experience for everyone.

These activities are not only risky, but also violate our terms of service. We strongly encourage you to steer clear of them for your safety and the enjoyment of everyone in the game.

What’s Next?

Starting early next year, we will begin to ban offending accounts on a zero-tolerance basis. This is a big step toward creating a better and more secure gaming experience. We’ll keep you updated as we get closer to launch!

In the meantime, if you see anything suspicious, let our support team know! Your reports help us make the game a better place for everyone.

We appreciate the passion and dedication of our community and are committed to combating cheating.

Thank you for sticking with us as we work on this together!
