Welcome, Winter!

Wonderful Winter Village!

Winter has found its way back to Jorvik, so grab your warmest jackets! Speak to the Yule Goat who will come up to you once you log on, and begin exploring the festivities!

There are plenty of friendly (and some mischievous…) faces around who will guide you through all the winter activities we have to offer, and guide you around all the highlights of the Village! Alex will let you try your hand at carving ice sculptures, a very competitive Capran will challenge you to do championships, and there are adventure-filled races through the snowy village… Don’t forget to keep an eye on the sky, as every hour there will be magical auroras, showing you the location of a magical festivity! You will get a winter token the first time you do one of the activities each day, giving you a total of nine tokens if you manage to find all the unique events! 

Besides all the magical fun throughout Jorvik, you can also stop by the shops in the Winter Village to grab yourself some of the coziest outfits you could ever imagine, or maybe have a look at the magical horses who would love to accompany you home! There are currently two new faces there, who you can read more about further on in the article… Our magical horses from previous years will join the fun next week!

Besides claiming Winter Tokens from the various activities, you can of course claim your presents under the Yule Tree! And since we’re now a few days into December, you already have a couple of presents waiting for you. You’ll get one new present for every day of December, and you can claim them until the Winter Village leaves during the Wednesday update on January 8th!

The Magical Horse Story!

In a forest behind the Winter Village dwells a herd of magical horses. While aware of humans and their activities, they prefer to live remotely in their snowy paradise. But the two horses Hjortensia and Earik felt differently. They shared a burning desire to escape the herd’s isolation…

“I want to try arena competitions. I already beat YOU at everything,” sputtered Hjortensia around a mouthful of apples. “Watch, I can even eat faster than you.”

“Apples are meant to be savored,” chided Earik. The gentle giant gazed thoughtfully at his friend. “I long to go on a trail ride.”

“We look so different from their horses. What if they don’t like us?” asked Hjortensia.

“What if they do?” replied Earik.

“Let’s try it,” they agreed. They bid their families goodbye, invited their pets Hjart and Nisse along, and followed the aurora borealis to the Winter Village. 

Will you show them love, just as you do with your normal horses? If so, they would be ecstatic to join your adventures! You will find them in the Winter Village, and will be your companions for 900 Star Coins each. Nisse and Hjart will gladly tag along for 350 Star Coins each! There are also matching sets for both horses, available in the shops.

Trailblazer - Trail of Midwinter!

As you’re already in the game and playing in the snow, why not get some extra rewards for your adventures! That’s right, it’s time for another Trailblazer, and this time it’s the frosty feel of the Trail of Midwinter! Earn trail points by simply playing as you normally would, and collect sweet rewards as you reach new milestones - there are a wonderful 35 of them, to be exact! Everyone gathers points for this track, but you will need to be Star Rider to collect these rewards.

The Trail of Midwinter runs until the Wednesday update on January 8th. If you didn’t have time to get all the rewards by then, don’t worry; you’ll be able to purchase the outfit for you and your horse at the end of June 2025!

Festive Stable Decor!

Bring the cozy core of winter to your home stable with these brand new stable customizations! There are new color variations of the already existing themes, but there is also a new category called Rustic! Maybe a colorful bauble on the stall doors, or a fantastically festive carpet on the floor will be your style of choice this winter?
