Good day, StarFam! We wanted to share some important information with you regarding the automated chat suspension system based on your recent questions and feedback. We think it’s important to make things as clear as possible being that the chat is such an important part of our players’ lives in Jorvik.
Keeping the chat a safe and secure environment is one of our major responsibilities, so we need to ensure that we are doing so to the best of our abilities. With more and more players joining the game, it’s simply unrealistic to continue doing all moderation manually.
We understand that this new system is not perfect and it is currently a work in progress. The system itself is learning every day, based on the behavior and actions of our players and on adjustments made by our team. All reports are investigated, so every report helps our team to improve the system in some way overall. If our team reviews your suspension and decides that our terms and conditions have not been violated, your suspension will be removed.
One of the most important things to remember regarding the automated system is that it can take up to 30 minutes from the filter being triggered to receiving a suspension. During this time, the system is reviewing your established profile and taking into consideration past actions and previous chat. Typically, what was said immediately prior to receiving a suspension message is not what triggered the suspension itself, the trigger will have occurred earlier.
Keep in mind, the system will not consider to whom you are speaking when something inappropriate is said. Slang words and jokes with friends may be fun outside of Star Stable, but sometimes these things are not appropriate for our chat.
We must ask that you please do not attempt to “test” the system by writing inappropriate words or phrases with the purpose of receiving a suspension. This negatively impacts the system learning ability and suspensions will not be removed if your “test” succeeds.
Finally, if you see anything in the chat that has not been filtered but should be, please take a screenshot and forward a report over via our contact form. This is super helpful to our team!
